On 30 August 2025 Mela Nordic held its first big festival at Ridhuset in Folkets Park, Malmö, together with Folkets Park, Råfilm and ABF Malmö – an afternoon and evening of music, dance and food from across South Asia.
The programme ran from 15:00 to 21:00 and included The Lund International Tagore Choir, Hindustani semi-classical music with vocals, harmonium and tabla, Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dance, Afghan folk music on the dambura, the Lund folk-fusion band Jojon and the Swedish-Turkish funk collective Çok Eym.
Thank you to all the artists, partners, volunteers and everyone who came. We hope it was the first of many.
